Description
The White Horse is outlined in chalk on a steep escarpment on the Berkshire Downs in Oxfordshire. An ancient display of iconic art, the earliest reference to the Horse dates from 1070 AD when it was mentioned in a charter belonging to nearby Abingdon Abbey.
